* A very annoying thing i had to do when setting up my board was having to tick all the @&#$ing permission tickboxes one by one for all my 20 different user groups and 55 categories! Thats 2200 (20groups * 55categories * 2) TAB presses and SPACE presses for me... If only we could have an option for Checking all the permission boxes with one click It would have saved me 2000 keys at least. Please add a check all option (or better, switch the 'check to allow' method to 'check to deny' method so we would only have to check those boxes where we want to deny something.

This already exists click the name of the user group to assign all to a user group, click the permission to assign that permission to all user groups.

Is this for America or UK? .co.uk domains are always considerably cheaper, I pay £2.79 a year for mine (plus VAT).

I also use 1and1 simply because they let me use a glue record for my DNS where as others don't.

Is this just a case of adding target="_blank" in parse.php?

A simple yes would have sufficed.

Although i'd recommend otherwise as the colour switcher is a nice little feature.

Also, are the images which go with the icons (obviously with a different gradient) alright?

So you want the changing colours removed for guests, members, messages, reported posts etc?

So it would be a single column?

What about the top links? Or would you just keep the forums links?

Also, looking at it, the top links which are currently Home/Join Now/Advertise/Contact Us could be used as the forum links, but then that might not look all that, in regards the changing colours.

First off, is that the final version of your front page as it looks very messy to me? I'm using firefox so I presume you've made it for IE and never checked other browsers.

Also is the sidebar static in the code somewhere, or generated by some sort of CMS?

Are you using a CMS at all for generating the content?

Your ability to use the internet to discover simple answers to your questions is second to none my friend.....

It basically means getting rid of the oldies, so in our case, it'd be deleting the old topics, so this will be topics which have been inactive for a very long time.

And before you ask, the benefit of this is to reduce the database size.

no, no, no, no nothing to do with guests.

Just the number of users that have been online in the last 24 hours.

So instead of saying "Users online in last 24 hours" and then listing them it says, "25 users online in last 24 hours" and then lists them, so it's basically just adding the number of however many are listed to the front of that little phrase.

It's been brought by Google so i'm expecting an overhaul of it soon, but its been a little while now and no major changes other than google ad integration.

Problem with that is, it doesn't give an accurate portrayal, i'd rather it be 24 hours, so you can see how many people come on per day and thus it's an accurate overview of the popularity of the site both to you and new visitors.

This feature should be easy I would have thought considering password time and resetting is already a feature, this would just set the time they have to change it to immediate.

Ay removing it is kind of obvious, i'm still totally against linking elsewhere though, how hard is it to save it to desktop then upload it?

From an admins perspective not only do you have the problem of waiting for it to load (imagine if someone linked to one that was hosted on sortitoutsi.net!), or the site being down, then there's also the fact that it's just not very nice to other webmasters, I don't like people hotlinking to my images so why should I do it to others?

Yeah that's taking things a bit to far size wise, there was me thinking the common typo's suggestion might be too much, your thing just blows that out of the water effort and size wise

Perhaps something to say, the username you registered with was "whatever" if this was incorrect please enter a new one or something like that.

There definitely needs to be something to help in regards people entering wrong email addresses

Wouldn't be worth doing that anyway, think about how minimally its used but how much extra load the script would put on the reply screen.

All looks very good, I can't remember all the new features that have been added, but they all work just grand, the quick edit in particular.

Obviously you know my thoughts on the preview button, if you're going to do something, may as well do it really well, even if it does add to the code, otherwise what's the point?

But hey there's a topic for that already!

All in all, it's bloomin' lovely like

to be more specific.

User posts
User posts again, posts get merged
I edit it as the two posts were the same, so obviously it was just repeated
In the edit box it just says the users original edit saying merged due to auto merge thing

so perhaps it's a problem that when a topic is edited due to auto merge further edits by admins (and possibly by users) don't appear?

I'll do a test auto merge for you to see what happens, feel free to edit my post and see if it appears.

meh, even without ajax it could be done without a pop up couldn't it? at the very least couldn't the pop up be called in a frame on the add reply page.

I know there are better ways of doing it, but that'd at least get rid of the disgusting pop up?

but taking it further than that, would be good, imagine if you've got 10,000 members, only 9,500 have logged in in the last 6 months, it'd be good to be able to cut down that to 500, rather than calling in a database of 10,000 users each time.

One idea could be babbleboard_members and babbleboard_inactivemembers, so basically if someone hasn't logged in, in 6 months, they're set to inactive, babbleboard_members is called as usual and is thus alot smaller, because loads of members will be in inactive members.

Then when someone does log in, it says you haven't been active for 6 months, so your account was inactivated, to activate it again, click here and the person is put back into the "members" table.

The idea is basically to keep the tables which are being called regularly as small as possible.
