When creating your mod, you may be adding new links to areas that were not in the original release of the forum.

Please ensure that you enclude a SEF_URL OFF link and SEF_URL ON link for any of your mods so that those wanting to use search engine friendly url's can still do so after installing one of your mods.

To add SEF_URL ON urls you will need to open includes/pages/admin/settings.php and scroll down a little bit until you see the htaccess file that gets generated. Stick your SEF_URL in there.

In your instructions for installing the mod, please tell people how to do this step, and please tell them also to turn SEF_URL's off once installed, then turn SEF_URL's back on. Failing to do this step may mean your mods wont work!

Again, this is only if you are adding new areas to the forum. If you are editing an existing part of a forums script then you don't need to worry about this.
