3ICE Posts: 2 Joined: 28 February 2008	Thursday, Feb 28, 2008 02:35 Hi I love BabbleBoard, and these are the things I miss/find bad: * I can not see the icon for putting a list into my post. * Clicking the ? icon gives you a 404 error with a scary pic saying Oops * I would like bigger icons, as these small ones on my 2048X1536 screen are very close to being invisible :/ * I really miss IPB's feature: [ DoHTML ] <b>You <u>can <i>put</i> html</u> here.</b> [ DoHTML ]. I understand that implementing such feature would be time consuming (Having to check for each and every element and closing it to avoid table-ruining posts (Like a non-closed <center> tag would centerize the entire board) * My beautiful animated gif avatar turned into a weird image with white dots in it after i uploaded it as my avatar. Please allow moving(animated) gifs. * After every setting you make in the admin cp, there should be a small green note telling you that Your changes have been saved. * When posting a new topic the path to the topic should not be hidden (I mean when you browse the forums and read topics you can see above the first post: Home \| General Discussion \| BabbleBoard v1.1.5 Released It would be important so you can double check if you are posting in the right topic/category. * Is there text-size changing? If there is, please add an icon for it in the toolbar. * A very annoying thing i had to do when setting up my board was having to tick all the @&#$ing permission tickboxes one by one for all my 20 different user groups and 55 categories! Thats 2200 (20groups * 55categories * 2) TAB presses and SPACE presses for me... If only we could have an option for Checking all the permission boxes with one click It would have saved me 2000 keys at least. Please add a check all option (or better, switch the 'check to allow' method to 'check to deny' method so we would only have to check those boxes where we want to deny something. * Add an option for people who post long topics to increase(+) and decrease(-) the size of this box I am typing into. It is really hard to oversee my post after having typed 2000 characters down. * The features page says that we can delete items from the edit history list, but there is no little red button for doing so. (Or I was too blind to find it) * Add an option for hiding the Language and Theme selector dropdowns easily (Without having to change the code) * Have insert_your_advertisement_scripts_into_this_div pre made in the header and footer sections. I, a low level php coder spent an hour tinkering with the source to get it to display properly, only to find out later that in IE my implementation looked rubbish. It would be cool to have a pro like you write the code so it would work in all browsers the same way. (I ended up hiding the ads for IE users which isn't a great thing because i get less money this way) * It would be lovely if links would open in new windows [ url_new ] and [ url_same ] bbcodes. (new for opening in new window same for opening in same window) * Custom profile fields should be displayed in the profile of the users. Yours faithfully, 3ICE (Supporter of Open Source!) I am in the process of working out version 1.1.6 and will try to get some of these implemented into this version. The remainder will wait for 1.1.7 but I promise, every one of them will get consideration. I truly appreciate your comments, as I was hoping for some input from other users. This already exists click the name of the user group to assign all to a user group, click the permission to assign that permission to all user groups.

3ICE Posts: 2 Joined: 28 February 2008	Sunday, Mar 02, 2008 03:49 I have given up with babbleboard :/ It has bugs that I am unable to cope with.. My posts randomly disappear. Spoilers don't work as intended with edit history turned on. Apostrophes get escaped pointlessly and "3ICE's" turns into (EDIT: Wow we can't even type backslash in this [opposite of /]) The Post Editor buttons are too small, and there is no list button. This software looked really cool when I tried it first. Beautiful sliding animations, easy to use control panel, fast reliable and open source. But its not as good now... I don't want my important stuff to simply disappear! The entire thing might be my fault (I changed uploader.php to allow all filetypes), but I don't think it is. I'm off to find another forum. If so it could also link into my old problem of the polls deleting when a edit history was.
