I'm really liking this software for the most part, but there are several bugs I've noticed so far. One is very prominent and has to do with threading:

- No posts display on second page of threads -- through the software is recording them, because when I switch the threads to display more posts per page, they appear.
- User titles do not work
- Reply feature only works at the bottom of posts and not at the top of the thread
- No matter what time setting is used, it always displays Pacific time.

- Post count on profiles always displays as "0".

I've also received some feedback from a member of my forum that, while administrators have the ability to edit posts, members do not, even when the option for members to be able to edit their own posts is checked. Of course, I seem to have that option here, for some reason... It's a bit odd, because I mean running a very clean unmodified version of the software on my site.

Hi there.

  1. That'll probably be a problem with the way the forum configures it's page numbers, so it's a bug.
  2. Again, that'll probably be a bug.
  3. Bug again
  4. Another bug....
  5. When creating a category, you need to turn ON post counts. Turn them on then go to cache & purge to recount members posts.
  6. Possibly a bug

I know not all answers will help you but hope at least one answer is of use to you

Thanks for the info.

When I edit category permissions, I don't see a post count option. I get six options, the first four of which I turn on, the last two being uploads and downloads, which I turn off. Where is the post count info?

Also, on the thing with regular members not being able to edit, at least one members has now reported having the ability, so we're trying to get him to clear his browser cache to see if it's something on his end.

Go to the categories area in the Admin CP, then click the edit icon to edit the category. You'll see the category name & description, and below that will be the option to "Increment Post Count". Tick that box.

The editing problem sounds a very strange one. You'll need to get Daimon to look into that one I'm afraid. It's a bit worrying if people in the same group are encountering different permissions though.

Thanks. That worked for me.

We have a bit of further information on that: We've discovered that edit permissions can vary for the same user depending on the case used for log-in. For example, if someone registered as "Bob", signed in as "Bob", they'd probably have an edit button, but if someone registered as "Bob" signed in as "bob" (all lower-case), the edit button would be missing.
